A red commuter train fills the left two-thirds of the frame, smeared by motion into horizontal bands: a saturated red roof, a pale green stripe, a gray window band, and a red lower body above a second pale green sill. In the windows, blurred passengers in jackets sit in rows, readable as people but without faces. A thin streak of white and orange light with a cyan fringe runs across the glass. The upper third of the frame is nearly black, a dark station ceiling. On the right, a man in dark clothing walks the platform carrying a bag, his torso and head fairly legible, his legs trailing into a translucent double image. The gray platform floor has a pale strip and dark tactile markings running diagonally from the bottom center toward him. Formally, the image sets a fast subject against a slow one. Motion blur turns the train into fields of color, saturated red against pale green, while the walker, only partly blurred, becomes the single legible figure, near the right-hand third.
