Meri loves music, so give her some songs to sing~
This sketch of Artemisia is by @thunderkate.bsky.social (I have commissioned her to finish the coloring and do one of Mylia as well at some point here soonish, so excited on that).
I dont think shes a great singer, but she does enjoy music and karaoke counts!
Let's do someone I don't bring up often... Balan. He's always up for a party, so he'd be first in line for Karaoke! art by Kao
Let's do Dee this week. As you can probably tell, she's not often in a party mood. What could she be prevailed upon to sing?

Makoto: Very well.
Gil Dong: Yeah. Go for it.
Tulio: Not really my thing, but sure, why not?
Yukiko: Ooh, we love singing!
Natsumi: This'll be fun!

I always have trouble with these kinds of questions. I don't really think about authors.
I guess... dead, Sam Kieth or Drew Hayes which is sooo obvious for me.
Living... I dunno, @wizardhill.bsky.social & I seem to have things in common & can hold a multi-thread convo here. Sure.
#LitHodgepodge
Late to this but living Clive Barker, such beautiful prose and world building.
Dead author would be Terry Pratchett, who needs no introduction.

A16. I'd be honored to tour with N.K. Jemisin! Otherwise, maybe Jules Verne for the steampunk vibes I'm going for with TSBH.
#LitHodgepodge
#LitHodgepodge I finally have my answer: Mary Shelley and Suzanne Collins. The inventor of my genres and the author who was heavily responsible for bringing them into the present (US) mainstream
I (Holfelder) fell in love with everything written by C.S. Poe. (www.cspoe.com/books) I'd love to do an event with her! *swoons* As for dead writers...I feel like a conversation with Robert Frost would be really cool. I started out as a poet, before I moved to fiction.

I'm thinking Andy Weir and Anne McCaffrey would be a great conversation.

Living: Megan Derr
Dead: Shakespeare
Derr is one of my faves and I like to think writes stories similar to my own. i'd love to compare notes.
Shakespeare was huge influence and seems like a guy who'd be fun to kick back and share a beer with.
Pick a writer—one living, one dead—for a book tour event!
I'll choose Edgar Allen Poe and Sarah Prineas.
Hard to choose! I've many living authors I'd love to share a panel with. Though Stephen Graham Jones is my fave to sit & listen to enthuse about horror. For our dearly departed; I'd love to chat to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle about homoromanticism in his work (especially The Lost World).
#LitHodgepodge
There are so many great indies on here, many of whom I consider friends. Would be honored to go with anyone.
I'd dig being in the same room as Tolkien, for sure. I come from a Catholic background, so I'd want to pick his brain about that writer/Catholic mix experience.
#LitHodgepodge
Terry Pratchett and Martha Wells. I just really want to hear what they would talk about together.
#lithodgepodge
I'd love to sit down and have a conversation with Sally Rooney! I admire her both as a writer (Normal People is one of my fav books) and as a person. I'd also very much enjoy sitting down with Toni Morrison. She's an extraordinary person and the author of a masterpiece, Beloved! #LitHodgepodge
Pick a writer—one living, one dead—for a book tour event!
I'm going to cheat (sort of).
I would enjoy going on a book tour with Sharon Lee and her late husband Steve Miller (not of the band), co-authors of the wonderful Liaden Universe series of #scifi books.
This is a tough one. For the deceased author I would pick either Terry Pratchett or Ursula K. Le Guin.
Living: I would say T. Kingfisher is my biggest influence, but I'd love to meet Clive Barker or Nghi Vo.
There are so many writers whos work I admire, so this is tough
Alive- Tasmyn Muir because I absolutely adore her work or Jeff Vandermeer because Annihilation is peak and he seems like a great guy on here
Passed on- Richard Adams because Watership Down is an all time fav of mine
