After a rough 2 months, tonight I watched my first black and white film since August.

I could literally feel my soul re-entering my body, watching this exquisite ensemble cast perform one of the truly great screwball comedy scripts. I feel reborn. #LibeledLady

Aha! Spotted another different character. The capital F is an actual cap in #DoubleWedding, but it's lowercase in #LibeledLady. So, so cool. I really need to find out about how the studio typefaces were made.

Wait, wait! Hold the presses! The esses are different! The s character in #DoubleWedding is more lightning bolt/zigzag than the soft curves of #LibeledLady.

Myrna's pretty cute in anything!

Does this predate superhero groups?!

It sounds like it probably triggered (or exacerbated) the kidney disease that led/ contributed to her death the following year. 😔

@tcmparty.bsky.social for hosting this. I really enjoyed #LibeledLady and while Myrna Loy was the pull, the chemistry among the entire cast was electric.
Enjoy the rest of the films everyone.
