@shenmuevillage.bsky.socialRyo is a character that seems so generic if you go off of the many renders, artwork, promo adverts, and just looking at a screenshot of him... but this old art of him from back in the day shows a lot about him.
@shenmuevillage.bsky.socialThe Swallow Dive is a powerful leg move that Guizhang Chen teaches to Ryo Hazuki.

@shenmuevillage.bsky.socialYuqing Chen is the resident monk at Man Yuan Temple and keeps it in order, along with making sure that the emas are managed accordingly.... so that the visitors who come and give prayers, wishes, and thoughts can have a place to say what's on their mind.
@shenmuevillage.bsky.socialThe Shenmue anime fixed one major gaping hole in Shenmue 1's main story.... how exactly did Lan Di know to pursue and go after Yuanda Zhu to locate the Phoenix mirror.

@shenmuevillage.bsky.socialLishao Tao was someone that Master Chen trusted would help Ryo when he got to Hong Kong, and it makes me wonder.... how well known is the Chen family name in China and the martial arts community for him to just tell Ryo to go to Lishao Tao.
@shenmuevillage.bsky.socialThis poster in Fuku-san's room saying keep your mind as clear as a polished mirror in Shenmue 1 is a direct reference to Xuiying's exact motto in Shenmue 2 to Ryo when urging him to have a calm mind, while trying to catch leaves falling in the air.
