Three bright yellow structures tower over buildings and cars around Leith docks (although there are many more out of shot). They are platforms for offshore wind turbines waiting to be transported away on barges. A line of bollards in the foreground are there to prevent cars from crossing into the pedestrian square. I made the rest of the photo mono to make the platforms stand out. They are reminiscent of the tripods in War of the Worlds (to me, at least). The original photo was taken on my phone but the special effects were done in Adobe Lightroom.

I know there was a portable hand cranked air raid siren within the Police Station in Leith Docks that was tested up until the late 1980’s. The Police Station was on the right just within the gates from Constitution Street and has now been demolished.
