Some rustic magic wands for Halloween or maybe some LARP adventure. Hawthorn and maple wands with leather wrapped handles. One with an obsidian tip and the other two with willow ring rattles.

Carrie Hall, a masterful artisan from Key West, showcases her latest work, a vibrant addition to her arts and crafts collection that captures the essence of the breathtaking Florida Keys. A woman with long brown hair is meticulously trimming a piece of bright pink leather with a pair of scissors. The leather is adorned with a fringe, and the woman is carefully cutting the fringes to create a uniform length. She is wearing a green shirt and is focused on her task, her brow furrowed in concentration. The image captures the detail and precision involved in crafting leather goods, highlighting the artistry and skill required. A small shoulder bag hangs against a clean white paneled background, its shape soft and slightly slouchy, giving it a relaxed, everyday feel. The bag itself has a metallic, pearly finish that catches the light in pale silver and warm champagne tones, with subtle reflections that make the surface look almost luminous. Around the lower and side areas, there are hints of tan and gold-toned wear or patina, adding texture and character. The strap is long and narrow, made of a darker material with a brown-and-black pattern, and it arcs upward to form a pointed peak above the bag, creating a graceful triangular silhouette. Delicate metal hardware connects the strap to the bag on either side, and the top edge is gently folded, with a zipper closure running across it. Overall, the image has a simple, elegant composition that puts all the attention on the bag’s shimmering finish and understated, stylish design.

It occurs that I haven’t touted this resource lately: The York Archaeological Trust. They have published many of their out-of-print fascicules online. An amazing resource for historical Anglo-Scandinavian material culture.

Made a little camp stool to use at markets. Based on a design from Lost Art Press except that I stitched the seat rather than riveting it. I learned a lot from this one. I'll probably make a second one eventually.

As an experiment and to gain experience, we went to a small vendor event in our home town. It was a positive experience. #woodworking #leatherworking #woodworkingwomen

In the heart of Key West, gifted craftsman Carrie Hall reveals her newest creation, "Sling Blue Metallic Rider" a remarkable piece that adds to her arts and crafts collection, celebrating the stunning scenery of the Florida Keys. A bright turquoise leather fanny pack hangs from a white wooden wall. The pack is made of a shiny, metallic leather and has a zipper closure. The strap is made of brown leather and has a brass clasp. The pack is a small, compact size, making it perfect for carrying essentials. The white wood background provides a clean and simple backdrop for the colorful fanny pack. The image is well-lit and the colors are vibrant.
A small tan leather crossbody bag hangs against a white paneled wall, centered neatly in the frame. The bag has a soft, rounded shape with a zippered top and a long adjustable strap attached by brass-colored clasps, giving it a slightly rustic, handmade feel. What stands out most are the long leather fringe panels on both sides, falling down in slender strips and adding a sense of movement and bohemian style. The leather has a warm caramel tone with a smooth, slightly worn texture that catches the light gently. Overall, the image feels simple and stylish, with the bag’s earthy color and fringe detail creating a strong visual contrast against the clean, bright background.
