Ladybug like insects on a seat at the train station. There's a fair bit of sooty mould on the seat, maybe they're after that?

I was just watching clouds of moths around this bottlebrush tree, when a pair of musk lorikeets rocketed into it. Sadly, I didn't capture the birds on video, and they disappeared into the back of the tree quickly. But it shook up the moths a lot!
The local Pauline Outta Tronno campaign is stepping up, laying out the whys and wherefores.
Anyone have a clue what this insect is? There's a few of them around the house, along with a bazillion moths and hoverflies.
Edit: apparently a crane fly.
Newcastle line trains out due to freight train broken down. Buses running between Fassifern and Newcastle instead. We're getting to Glendale to catch a 13 from there instead.

The musk lorikeets around here usually fly high and stick to the high gum blossoms, so I rarely get to see them properly. Lately though, they've been getting into the red bottlebrush which gives me a fighting chance.
From this morning's walk into Toronto NSW for groceries, a willy wagtail sitting on its finely crafted nest over water.
We sat down at the lake today with chips and a couple of beers, before facing up to the stupor market. Quite a few yacht races on the go. Here's a small group of one race returning to the Toronto yacht club.
Inn the walk into Toronto NSW today, a dusky moorhen poking about in a storm water drain.

Looking in #LakeMacquarie at #CareyBay #Australia today.
Yesterday we caught the bus to Teralba and walked to Speers Point for a picnic. Here's a selection of birds seen along the way.

Spring is bouncing well. Yesterday, shorts and 36°C. Today I'm in jeans and the day is struggling towards its 20°C forecast max. Back to hot by the weekend.
Seeing this stuck up around Toronto NSW recently, like this one on a bin. I'm guessing anti One Notion? Definitely a hyper-local campaign 🙂
