What does it mean when a neighbourhood like the ‘Kotti’ or the ‘Görli’ becomes a testing ground for surveillance technologies? We want to discuss this with experts in data protection and police law, as well as local activists from the neighbourhood. Penny Prinz from Berlin conducts research into surveillance and political protest. Martin Schwarzbeck is an editor at netzpolitik.org and focuses on, amongst other things, AI-based video surveillance systems. Fabian de Hair is a criminologist in Hamburg and has investigated the social consequences of AI video surveillance as part of a research project.
