I guess the Western Pacific wants to get in on the "tropical cyclone remnants affecting #SoCal" party too. The remnants of Typhoon #Koguma, currently an extratropical low racing across the North Pacific, could end up taking an odd track down the California coast.

#Koguma is becoming extra-tropical well east of #Japan. A depression has formed near #Micronesia & will soon become TS #Champi. The storm will reach severe TS or typhoon intensity before impacting the #Mariana Islands this weekend.

A bit good far off to be certain yet but some models are indicating that TS #Koguma (in an extratropical transition) could bring rain to SoCal next week!

#Koguma is weakening well east of #Japan. The low near #Micronesia will strengthen & can impact the #Mariana Islands as a typhoon this weekend. The storm could go on to impact Japan later next week.

Und das alles bei 115 Knoten (Low-End-Kategorie 4). Ungewöhnlich.
