A mix of both. I tend to do at least some worldbuilding before I start writing, but I continue to work on it as I write.

I haven't made much progress on continuing my story lately; maybe I'm finding the next scene of #TheDragonblood which introduces my main antagonist too daunting. But I've gotten people to read what I have so far and received feedback and made changes based on that!

#TheDragonblood: Stories of dragons predate the dragons. The Nemorians had a story about the slaying of Elluamvis, a giant serpent, by a hero named Perpunos.

#TheDragonblood: Dragons live in natural caves, that they decorate with gold that they make themselves from, among other things, the leftovers of their prey.

So, they don't collect the gold itself, but they collect things to turn to gold.

#TheDragonblood: Dragons, as apex predators, control the populations of a variety of animals. I imagine tribes can only get so big before they could no longer sustain themselves, and they also tend to be spread out and have large hunting ranges.

#ThroughTheCracks: The rise in AI after the Third AI Winter brought about an art movement focused on doing it yourself by hand. Many old handicrafts were revived, such as hand-spinning, hand-stitching, basket weaving, paper making and blacksmithing.

#TheDragonblood: There is plenty of beautiful architecture in Nemoria. The temples of the gods are often pretty stunning, although Amfrobena prefers her temple to be very disorganised gardens, and Anamuortus's temples only exist virtually.
