"Love is not passive; it goes out to meet the other. Being a neighbor is not determined by physical or social proximity, but by the decision to love."
~ Pope Leo XIV
love is a choice.
love is a practice.
choose to love.

bravery is a practice.
bravery is love in action.
bravery is one breath at a time,
one foot in front of the other,
one word following another.
bravery is needed in this time.

@jaysenwaller.bsky.socialin a time when cruelty is practiced in rhetoric, embodied in policy & promoted at rallies & performed for cameras, it can feel risky to prioritize & practice compassion. but, how else can we embody the call to love, & if we don’t do it who will?

though much of what we see around us paints a dark picture for the near & perhaps long future, may we remember that it isn’t the whole story, & certainly not the end of the story, a story each of us has a part in writing. may we write our part w/ love.

@jaysenwaller.bsky.socialblessed Autumn Equinox friends. may equal parts light & dark be a reminder of balance. may the inevitability of change be a reminder that tyrants, empires & oppressive forces can’t last. so let’s plant ourselves in love which has no beginning & no end.🙏🏼

may it be so.
for the sake of this world, the vulnerable, the marginalized & targeted, those whose sacredness & inherent dignity have been ignored & dismissed, & all life here without exception, may it be so.
