#naturetherapy #naturephotography #ECK #redsquirrel #squirrel #sqrlpix #ireland #irishwildlife #ColorADay #GreenSat

A Red Squirrel pops up from behind a lichen-covered branch in a leafy forest. The branch runs diagonally from bottom right corner to top left corner. The Squirrel faces the camera, showing its white belly and is looking straight at the camera with a surprised look. Its has red fur, tufted ears and fluffy tail, which it holds vertically erect behind it.

A Red Squirrel close up, standing on its back legs on the forest floor. The animal takes up most of the shot, facing right with its right side showing. Its head, chest, arms, underbelly and tail can be seen. Its head is lifted slightly so its move is slightly elevated.
It has red fur, a little darker at the top of its head. It has a beige coloured eye ring and muzzle and its ears have long tufts of red hair on them. Its arms are held out slightly in front of it and its black claws are visible. It has a white chest and belly and its bushy tail is running along the ground behind it with the tip out of shot.
The sunshine is shining in from the left and illuminating the animals tail and back.
A tree trunk is in the foreground, out of focus and running along the right of the shot giving a shadowy effect.
The rest of the shot is Ivy leaves, brambles and other vegetation, mostly out of focus and lit up by the light from the left.

For #SquirrelSaturday I have a Red Squirrel standing on a broken limb of a tree in the forest, flanked by two beach trunks.

The shot is taken through vegetation, giving it a blurry look.

#naturetherapy #naturephotography #ECK #redsquirrel #squirrel #sqrlpix #irishwildlife #ColorADay #GreenSat

A Red Squirrel perched on a broken limb of a beach tree, looking at the camera. The squirrel is centre of frame and facing the camera with its head turned to the right so thatโ€™s the right side of its head is visible.
The squirrel has a red coat with a dark nose and long whiskers. It has a pale eye ring around a dark eye and long ear tufts. Its tail is long and bushy and its underbelly is white.
Itโ€™s is standing on the end of a broken beach limb about twice as large as the animal itself. There is an out of focus beach trunk taking up the left side of the shot in the foreground and some leaves and vegetation are out of focus and give a slightly blurry effect to the shot. The right side of the shot is another beach trunk, in focus this time and illuminated by light with patches of green moss on it. The background is out of focus green leaves with dappled light throughout.

For this weeks #SquirrelSaturday I have a Red Squirrel I disturbed on the forest path yesterday.

It climbed the nearest tree and let me know it wasnโ€™t happy; from a safe distance!

A Red Squirrel peering around the trunk of a tree in the sunshine. The animal is centre of the shot and its head and upper body are visible from behind the tree trunk to the right.
It has red fur, a little darker at the top of its head. The left side of its head and shoulder are lit up in the sunshine and its long whiskers can be seen against the blue sky. It has a beige coloured eye ring and muzzle and the fingers on the right hand can just be seen against the tree trunk.
The tree trunk travels along the right of the shot, tapering off towards the top. It has a light covering of green moss and some small branches can be seen in front of it. The background is a blue/white sky

A full-length vertical shot of a deer standing on a damp, mossy woodland trail beneath a low arch of leafy branches. The deer is facing away from the camera on slender legs, its head turned around over its left shoulder to look directly forward with large dark eyes and upright ears. Its coat is a warm chestnut-brown with subtle pale spots, featuring a distinctive white rump patch outlined in dark fur. Dappled sunlight filters through the dense foliage overhead, illuminating the deer against the shadowy, earth-toned undergrowth of roots and fallen leaves.

The Dor Beetle, spotted wandering along the Annaloughan Loop on the Cooley Peninsula, Co. Louth. You can clearly see its bright metallic blue coloration highlighting the edges and legs.
