And, b/c you didn’t get a pic yesterday, here’s a couple of photos of fungi in the persimmon woods. #nature #fungi #amanita #indigomilkcap

The blue one is edible (not for me, I’m allergic), but the white one is not! Never, ever eat a random mushroom unless you can identify it!

A colour photo of a line of white amanita polypyramis (I think)* fungi, lined up in a curve from bottom left to the top center of the image, growing in clusters on the ground in our woods. There are dead leaves and pine needles on the ground, and sticks and plants in the foreground. The bases of tree trunks are visible in the background, and green leaves beyond them.
*These ones are not edible for humans. This isn’t a problem for me, as I don’t eat mushrooms of any kind, but wild fungi can be very hard to identify! Never eat a fungus you cannot identify with absolute certainty.A colour photo of a small “egg” of white amanita polypyramis fungi (I think)*, among brown leaves, pine needles, and sticks.
The immature fungi has a warty surface, and is an almost perfect sphere.
*(People sometimes eat these by mistake, never eat a fungus you cannot identify with absolute certainty.)A colour photo of a slightly heart shaped indigo milk cap fungus among dead leaves and pine needles. The indigo is older, so not as bright blue as it can be when it is fresh. It is a pale striated blue, and the leaves and pine needles are a warm brown.
