Dr. Ifeoluwa D. Gbala from the Tumour Virology Lab, ICGEB Trieste, participated in the Africa CDC Continental Therapeutic Repurposing Research Platform meeting in Casablanca, Morocco🇲🇦 last week, dedicated to strengthening Africa's response to infectious diseases. The discussions centred on how therapeutic repurposing can accelerate interventions for priority diseases affecting the continent🌍, and how multidisciplinary platforms which connect researchers, clinicians, policymakers, innovators, funders, and communities are crucial in enabling experts to work together towards shared goals. The key take-away: the biggest challenges are rarely waiting for more experts - they are waiting for experts who can work together.🤝
