OCTPOWRIMO 2026-Number 13-Hot Springs-1st Slide: Steam flies high, above an open roof As droplets trickle, from an arm aloof "The water's so nice, I could stay here all day! What about you? Isn't it nice to get away?" The arm falls and what's attached is a lady Nude and free, just after having a baby Holding her gaze on a nervous young girl Her age is twenty, her head in a swirl "I...don't really know...this is my first time I...used to hide...when I was seen as a crime" The lady who's free looks at the girl with a scowl Seeing nothing wrong, she suspects something foul The lady raises her arm from the water once more Offering it in kindness to the girl clearly sore "Whatever once was will no longer stand in your way Won't you look into my eyes and have your own say?" The young bundle of nerves is noticeably scared They've come all alone and just about fared For when love is offered in a watery basin One would be rude to spoil the situationOCTPOWRIMO 2026-Number 13-Hot Springs-2nd Slide: "Yes...I can...but don't look too close I haven't...shaved...doesn't matter, I suppose" The girl is embraced by the eyes of a stranger With more care than her Mother offered the manger The heat caresses the stresses wound tight While a lady sees a girl, with unbiased sight "Do you feel my acceptance of your truth as you are? I had the honour of holding my newborn in a car They wouldn't admit us, for one stupid reason Viewing my husband as an act of pure treason The other side hurts much the same as your soul Different means to achieve one authentic goal But what we remember, and you must do this too Living to please others will bring sadness to you" The girl cannot stop her emotions from stirring Undoing her walls as the liquids are blurring Eyebags and blots begin to heal in some spots As the ripples settle and unravel the knots "I will live as I am...as their heart rots."

A small fountain in the center of a pool shooting several streams of steaming water straight up. The administration building is directly behind. The administration building was built in 1936 and became a National Historic Landmark in 1987. It's the newest building to be added onto bathhouse row, and started out as the park's visitor center and museum in addition to being the administration building. It wasn't until 1989 when the visitor center and museum operations moved into the newly refurbished Fordyce Bathhouse. It was designed in 1936 by Charles Peterson and Thomas Vint of the Park Service's Eastern Planning Division. Peterson especially liked Spanish architecture as the roof is made of clay tiles and the entrance also features Spanish Baroque doors.The building does have one other function: in the basement there is a pump room and reservoir to help distribute the thermal spring water.
