It still holds up, other movies from the same time can’t say the same, it’s still good. I obviously recommend a watch.

@skele101.bsky.socialI started watching the “In Colour” version and swapped to traditional and I’m glad I did the lighting does more in this version.
And some of the colouring looked strange, it kind of took me out.

As sacrilegious as it seems I’ve never seen this movie all the way through so I’m looking forward to sitting with it tonight.
@skele101.bsky.socialOverall, pretty scary, it’s a blumhouse movie, they know how to make it creepy. Not one I’m going to be adding to my yearly rotation.

@skele101.bsky.socialThe horror is really ramping up, but it’s still primarily jumpscares. The mother’s ability to hold her breath for a long time being established well in advance should been obvious foreshadowing.

Our movie watching continues with 2024’s “Night Swim” a Blumhouse production. Starring Wyatt Russell of US Agent Marvel fame.
I’m hopping for spooky atmosphere all the way through so let’s see if it sinks or swims.

“Waxwork” and “Waxwork 2: Lost in Time” are fun and fantastic. I recommend checking them out.
The monster mash, horror movie homage aspects, makes me wonder why more people don’t talk about them more. They should.

@skele101.bsky.socialThe ending of this movie is truly nuts. I forgot about the giant all out brawl between a number of elderly monster hunters and a series of wax monsters.
Someone just grabbed bat Dracula and said “Make my day” while shooting him point blank with a revolver.
I love this movie.
