WHAT a jaw-droppingly jammin' beautiful surprise last night! Hadn't done my homework, no idea #Hornsby is a jazz and bluegrass musician w/ PHENOMENAL band, just that he'd had couple hits, gets good reviews. Only 2 more shows left this tour - GO if you can, GO if they extend. This band is special.

From my balcony seat, the musicians just coming on stage to begin, Bruce is standing and holding some papers before he goes to the piano. There's a simple scrim w/image of a lake and dense forest, but a bare tree in left foreground. 1 of 2 pics taken before staff came by to say "No cameras." Oops, but hadn't seen any notice posted. 🤷🏼‍♀️Band on stage playing L-R: Bruce at the piano singing, off his left shoulder the bass guitarist sit as he plays, drummer with big drum set with 7 cymbals/top hats that I could see (more on him later), fiddler, electric guitarist, and keyboard player. The back of the tour t-shirt in gray with last night's "October 13th, Munhall, PA" (aka Homestead aka Pittsburgh) that I've highlighted in red and an added smiling emoji with starstruck eyesScreenshot of a review by Live For Live music: "Bruce Hornsby might well be the Forrest Gump of modern music. Everywhere you look (or listen, really), you’re bound to catch some of his handiwork: Over the years, he’s spent time touring with the Grateful Dead, was sampled by Tupac Shakur and a host of other hip-hop greats, and collaborated with everyone from Jerry Garcia, Don Henley, Wayne Shorter and Béla Fleck to Elton John, Eric Clapton and Sting." Last night he also named dropped Pat Metheny, Mavis Staples, Huey Lewis, and that he's worked with Bonnie Raitt multiple times (she's also on this new album). These are all in the context of giving the backstory to songs - he can write a song AND he can tell a story. https://liveforlivemusic.com/news/recap/bruce-hornsby-noisemakers-troubadour-indigo-park-tour-06-17-26-photos/
