Practical tip. #UKPrepperHub #PreparedNotPanicked #HomePrep #EmergencyKit #UKResilience

If you or someone in your household has medical needs or disabilities, register with your energy supplier's Priority Services Register. Free, and gets you extra support in an outage.

Worth knowing. #UKPrepperHub #PreparedNotPanicked #FirstAid #EmergencyKit #HomePrep

A car first aid kit is not the same as a home first aid kit. Both need checking once a year — expiry dates matter.

DIY skills are emergency skills. Being able to turn off a water supply, patch a roof, or fix a basic leak is worth more than most kit you can buy.

Change my mind. #UKPrepperHub #PreparedNotPanicked #FloodPrep #HomePrep #UKResilience

Flooding insurance is not the same as home insurance. A lot of UK households find this out after the water arrives.

Save this. #UKPrepperHub #PreparedNotPanicked #FloodPrep #HomePrep #UKResilience

Check your postcode flood risk on the GOV.UK flood map. Takes two minutes. A lot of people are surprised by what they find.

Change my mind. #UKPrepperHub #PreparedNotPanicked #HomePrep #EmergencyPrep #CommunityResilience

Children who know what to do in an emergency are an asset, not a worry. A 10-year-old who can call 999, unlock the door, and get a neighbour is worth more than any kit.

Agree or disagree? #UKPrepperHub #PreparedNotPanicked #EmergencyKit #PowerCut #HomePrep

Your phone is not an emergency plan. It needs signal, battery, and a functioning network. All three fail at once in a serious incident.

Agree or disagree? #UKPrepperHub #PreparedNotPanicked #HomePrep #UKResilience #EmergencyKit

Prepping isn't about the apocalypse. It's about the boiler breaking in January.

What skill do you wish you'd learned before an emergency — cooking without electricity, basic first aid, something else entirely?

Thoughts? #UKPrepperHub #PreparedNotPanicked #UKResilience #HomePrep #EmergencyPrep

The 'I'll just use my credit card' approach to emergencies assumes the card network is working, the shops are open, and the shelves are stocked. That's three assumptions too many.

What's your answer? #UKPrepperHub #PreparedNotPanicked #HomePrep #UKResilience #EmergencyPrep

Does where you live change how you think about prep? Coast vs inland, urban vs rural, top floor flat vs detached house?

Save this. #UKPrepperHub #PreparedNotPanicked #WinterPrep #HomePrep #EmergencyKit

Check your boiler service is up to date before winter arrives, not after it breaks. An October service is cheaper than a January emergency call-out.

What's one piece of UK-specific prep advice you'd give someone who's just starting to think about household resilience?

What's your answer? #UKPrepperHub #PreparedNotPanicked #PowerCut #HomePrep #UKResilience

If you had to spend a weekend without any electricity, what would genuinely be hardest to manage?

What's your answer? #UKPrepperHub #PreparedNotPanicked #GrabBag #EmergencyKit #HomePrep

If you had to leave your home with 30 minutes' notice, what would you genuinely forget?

Change my mind. #UKPrepperHub #PreparedNotPanicked #EmergencyPrep #UKResilience #HomePrep

Mental health during a prolonged emergency is real. Boredom, anxiety, loss of routine — these hit harder than most prep content acknowledges.
@ukprepperhub.bsky.socialSep 27, 2026, 8:00 AM

What would you do? #UKPrepperHub #PreparedNotPanicked #HomePrep #UKResilience #EmergencyKit

A heatwave in a poorly insulated UK home can be more dangerous than a cold snap. We prep for cold. We do almost nothing for heat.
@ukprepperhub.bsky.socialSep 26, 2026, 8:00 AM

Practical tip. #UKPrepperHub #PreparedNotPanicked #FloodPrep #WaterStorage #HomePrep

If flooding is forecast, fill your bath before the water is cut off. You'll have a large reserve for flushing and basic washing.
@ukprepperhub.bsky.socialSep 25, 2026, 8:00 AM

Agree or disagree? #UKPrepperHub #PreparedNotPanicked #EmergencyKit #HomePrep #UKResilience

The best time to refill a regular prescription is before you run out. The best time to prepare for an emergency is before one happens. Same idea.
@ukprepperhub.bsky.socialSep 24, 2026, 6:00 PM

Thoughts? #UKPrepperHub #PreparedNotPanicked #FloodPrep #UKResilience #HomePrep

Flooding affects more UK households than any other disaster. It also gets the least prep attention. We've got this backwards.
