Eventually I'm thinking of writing an article on #senryu in the spirit of Maeda JAKURO'S poetic theory of #senryu which doesn't position senryu's beginnings in the verse-capping game, Maekuzuke, but in the #hiraku verses of Haikai no Renga collaborative poetry the way #haiku is rooted in #hokku.

I've often felt that the way #haiku is generally explained, all we're doing is explaining the old #hokku under a new name. I often wondered why Shiki didn't do away with the rules that governed the #hokku. Seems like all he did was make the ku a standalone ku and gave it a name change.
