Master of Skitarii, painted for Cubicle 7 / Games Workshop 2 years ago.
Again it's small vignette with a quite narrow range of time to finish. Btw. I like the color scheme GW has given the Mechanicum ...

Doom Weaver, painted for Wizards of the Coast more than 6 years ago. Black cards are always a bit challenging; I used the red contrast to give back all that dead black and deep blue some life.

Explorator Majoris, painted for Cubicle 7 /Games Workshop.
Yet another vignette with a relatively tight deadline due to the limited budget.

Great Unclean One for Magic: The Gathering / Warhammer 40,000 that sickly yellow-green color is activated with several reds which are eye-catchers at the same time, a breadcrumb trail for the viewers eyes leading to the little Nurgling on his palm. #DemonArt #Warhammer40k #HelgeCBalzer #Painting

Glaurung - personal artwork - painted based on Tolkien's Silmarillion. The dragon defeats Turin at the ruined gate of Nargothrond not in battle, but with a single, mesmerizing glance.

Daggermaw Megalodon, painted for Wizards of the Coast (Duskmourn) - Making of.
Here, I’ve combined absurdity with horror. Ca. 18h working time.

Daggermaw Megalodon, painted for Wizards of the Coast (Duskmourn) more than 3 years ago. I’ve included a little surprise … do you see the cable running from the box to the hand of the supposed victim? ;)

Invictus-Acquisitor, painted for Cubicle 7 / Games Workshop.
This is a small vignette for Warhammer Roleplay. The tricky thing about spot illustrations is that you always have a pretty tight time frame to finish them.

This is an old piece I painted for the Warhammer 40k roleplay line many years after I painted it I made peace with it. It was planned as a cover artwork but ended up in a forgotten archive and had a revival as a spot illu in the new Mechanicum books. #Warpsmith #Warhammer40k #HelgeCBalzer #Painting

Tsathoggua, painted for Fantasy Flight Games, Arkham Horror. In the Cthulhu Mythos, he is the laziest god of all. he usually sleeps in the lightless underworld of N'kai and devours uninvited visitors who do not bring an offering ... #EldritchHorror #MonsterArt #ArkhamHorror #HelgeCBalzer #Painting

The Prophet, painted for Paizo Publishing's Pathfinder RPG a looong time ago.
I can't recall the goblin's name or lore, so it's likely set within the familiar goblin shamanic culture of Golarion.
