Here's the finished 40k single entry ready for Golden Demon & SMC.

I'm quite happy how the last minute single basing and the fabrics came out! Quite the successful final crunch this week 😊

Photo of the finished Aethon Shaan miniature I painted for Golden Demon, first as part of a 40k Unit entry (which he will go back into in the future!) but due to time constraints, seen here on his single-entry size base and plinth. He's painted true to lore, with black and white armor parts, red fabric, silver steel insignias, and minor details, like leathers, glowing lenses and more. The base is mainly painted to be red rock, dust and debris with wrecked parts vaguely looking to be from aircrafts and building structures with visible rebar and paneling. There are also various decorative tufts (painted to fit in) and six skulls total, one being part of a dead space marine in Raptors colors.Two photos (side by side & front and back) of the finished Aethon Shaan miniature I painted for Golden Demon, first as part of a 40k Unit entry (which he will go back into in the future!) but due to time constraints, seen here on his single-entry size base and plinth.

I'm entering some #stormcasteternals into #goldendemon at #adepticon this year. These guys might get disqualified; I needed dudes with ranged weapons, so I gave #ageofsigmar guys some #40k weapons.

Entering Golden Demon this year, or just admiring the cabinets?

@cryocheese.bsky.socialSep 20, 2026, 9:02 AM

Little changes.
Slow changes.

I don't think I have the time to continue refining this carefully and slowly. My personal deadline, due to the travels to the events, is October 15th. Oof.

We got claws on Aethon Shaan!

I decided to paint the right one as idle and inactive and the left hand claw as powered hup while slicing into the rock.

Looking good I reckon 😇

Last week I finished refining the first part of the 40k Unit entry!

This is about the best painting I can do at the minute. It's only a bit worrying how long it took me to get the jump-pack this far. There is SO much more to get to this level. Yikes!
