Dear friendly #geneology and #Irish people. I have an aunt who is trying to resolve a discrepancy in a distant relative's birthrate (around the 1820s) and a mother's name.

She came across the below and I'm not sure if there are other resources we should try first.

I find it absolutely unacceptable that Ancestry is allowed to sell us public records that we have already paid for. We should be able to get these records free of charge and not through a corporation. #geneology #Ancestry

I have felt that we were pieces on a giant chessboard. Since I got into #geneology I have come across nondescript surnames that have crossed my path. These names were not even close to being common & go back to the 1600's.🤔

#deadlinewh Until I got into #geneology I had no idea my ancestors have been here since the 1620's. I've learned a lot about US history because of that & some of that nothing to be proud of. There are a few Presidents (republicans) which I found hilarious. You should get into #geneology interesting
