@ozoned.btfree.social.ap.brid.gyJust read @[email protected] write up on the #Forkiverse and listened to the the Search Engine episode about them shutting it down.

This just shows we have more work to do. People tried it, found it wanting, and we come away understanding a […]
@zoneghost.theforkiverse.com.ap.brid.gyTo the #forkiverse I wish you peace as you drift into wherever deallocated memory goes.
@kingtor.frontrange.co.ap.brid.gyRIP #forkiverse
@flipboard.flipboard.social.ap.brid.gyAnd here's the episode of Search Engine where they talk about why the Forkiverse is ending — rising costs, lack of exciting content, and Russian propaganda infiltration.
@wendyhk.mastodon.green.ap.brid.gyThe New York Times #ForkiVerse Mastodon server will be deleted December 31st 💔
Love this cute Google Doc that @caseynewton and Kevin Roose created: https://docs.google.com/document/d/18ux_KzIkoTQz_gAcEzwlro59gkSIdOA_ysdwz9VMz68/edit?tab=t.0
Rest in peace, Forkiverse! #RIP
@jonny.neuromatch.social.ap.brid.gyJust started the search engine episode on the #forkiverse , and man that just bums me out. Many people including myself reached out to give them blocklists and give help with moderation and whatnot, and I'm sure there are people still on there that could have been given mod roles, and they could […]
@jaz.toot.wales.ap.brid.gy@olliestudio45 I think this view of your local #Forkiverse feed sums it up pretty nicely:

@iftas.mastodon.iftas.org.ap.brid.gy3. Buy the shirt! If you find the bot bios as hilarious as we do, why not wear it!
We've added the two bios mentioned in the episode and shamelessly added a #Forkiverse tag, but you can also pick your own favourite (full list below) and we'll make the shirt you want […]
@iftas.mastodon.iftas.org.ap.brid.gyA note for folks still on #Forkiverse - as per the most recent Search Engine episode at https://www.searchengine.show - here are the instructions on moving your account now that the shutdown is official: https://docs.google.com/document/d/18ux_KzIkoTQz_gAcEzwlro59gkSIdOA_ysdwz9VMz68/edit?tab=t.0 […]

This is a great idea! Would be interesting to see where everyone is now, who originally joined the forkiverse.
So, everybody out there, if you are an ex-forkizen, give us a toot!
@paco.infosec.exchange.ap.brid.gyI wasn’t especially sober when I wrote this, so it’s not as coherent as I would like.
Someone replied that I was being too harsh and I think that’s a valid way to read what I wrote, but it’s not really my intent.
I missed a step in talking about the #forkiverse experiment. I posit that the 3 […]
@paco.infosec.exchange.ap.brid.gyThere is a parallel between the #forkiverse server and AI. They vibed up a fediverse server. They didn’t know what it was, didn’t have passion or commitment to it. They didn’t realise that the hard part of hosting a server on the #fediverse is not standing up a slightly complicated software […]
@benparker.newsmast.social.ap.brid.gy@_elena @stefano She continues with the story of how Danish museum SMK ended up on the Fediverse (via the #Forkiverse experiment).
