@faythompsonauthor.bsky.socialMarketing is very difficult to do in a successful way. This is why even traditional publishers are struggling as access to readers has decentralized. Being sold anonymous email addresses that you can't see is very scam. You need to build your own fan base.
@andreaszeller.bsky.socialNew fuzzing formats for #Fandango! Today, we added HEIC, JXL, PPM, SVG, XBM, and XPM to the set of #Fanbase formats. Use `fandango fuzz -F heic -n 1000` to generate 1,000 HEIC files for testing. Next Tuesday: audio formats! github.com/fandango-fuz...

@faythompsonauthor.bsky.socialYou are trying to add 2 new fans to your 'newsletter' list each week. This is 4-5 per month. You are aiming at 100 loyal fans who are now looking for your upcoming novel. You spike this fan base with teasing stuff to get them excited about the upcoming novel.
@faythompsonauthor.bsky.socialIn a good year you are trying for 24 short fiction pieces wandering around the short publishing world seeking a home. When you sell them, immediately send the active link to your growing fan base. This boosts the fan commitment to you and gets them excited.
