Black-headed gull recorded at Marsh Farm CP. The bird calling was on the ground and quite close. The call is in response to being 'dive bombed' by another b-hg xeno-canto.org/1186398 #essexBirding #birds #birdrecording
A Redwing was an astonishing find as I walked around the block, very unusual here before Christmas. Skylarks back on fields, autumn Mipits & Common Gulls too. Kestrels more noticeable, Grey Wagtail & Cetti’s by bridge. #essexbirding
Tawny Owls all around calling tonight. One in our garden, two close by and another quite distant. Amazing sound, very mild night #essexbirding

This Wheatear has been furiously defending a large, insect rich, manure heap in Rayne, for at least 4 days now. Pied Wagtails, Meadow Pipits and Skylarks have all incurred its wrath during that time.
It’s stared me out a few times as well
