Great work — and much needed. Your review does an excellent job clarifying what we know, what remains uncertain, & why coordinated surveillance matters.
A valuable contribution for anyone following tick‑borne viruses, or early‑warning systems. Looking forward to seeing how the field evolves

Day 1 of #AEA2026 off to a great start

Talk by Brett Dyer (Griffith Uni) got me thinking - is there a repository that pools published DAGs to show collectively what is thought to be related to a given outcome?

Like a Cochrane review for DAGs

The nurse asked Paul Vercammen what should have been a simple question: What is your pain level?

Vercammen struggled to find words. West Nile virus had attacked his brain. He incoherently managed to mumble: LinkedIn & Instagram. healthbeat.beehiiv.com/p/when-west-...

Dear #Rstats #episky #dataviz communities: how threatened do you feel by AI ? How do you see your future ? How is it outside academia ?
I am so lost
I started using claude Code/Opus 5.5 : it is way better than me. Faster, writes better code, knows more in methodology and stats. I will be replaced ⬇️

Is causality enough to take AI to the next level?

And why do today's models fall so easily into a correlational black hole?

Nice study that I don't fully agree with, but makes a lot of important points about the shit show that is clinical data and the folly that is assuming that clinical prediction models work.
Many of the same data issues also in clinical target trial emulation.
