Love the paintings and poetry of Blake so this this new #ekphrastic challenge from @gwill2k.bsky.social is right up my street ♥️

Here is my inaugural offering 😊

Single Vision ​Blake sees a soul bared against rock, a creature turning from the sky to cage the infinite inside a scroll. ​ Newton sets his brass compass to the dust. Refraction changes direction. Dispersion separates wavelengths. Forces amass, distance by distance. ​ The rainbow loses its transcendence, a spectrograph, neat and explained. ​ The artist cries: You have parsed the light, but killed the fire. ​ The scholar answers: I have only named the truth. ​ Between them, the magic dies weighed, measured, solved, argued over and forgotten.
