Dave Holland — ‘Emerald Tears’
Step 40 in my #ecmodyssey is ECM 1109. Solo bass, which is a very ECM format (Manfred Eicher was a bassist). US promo copy. A surprising number of my ECMs are promos. They must have sent out loads, back in the day. Nice clean copy.

Steve Reich — ‘Octet/Music for a Large Ensemble/Violin Phase’
Skipping ahead in my #ecmodyssey cos I’m listening to this for a thing related to the boxset. I have 2 of 3 records in the box. But would buying the box be cheaper than getting an OG ‘18 Musicians’?

Azimuth — self-titled
Step 39 in my #ecmodyssey is ECM 1099, funnily enough (given the nature of my previous post). This a real fave. A dream combo of minimalism and ambient jazz. And I’ve got a German original with the peeling laminate.
