Meet the VIB.AI + VIB Data Core delegation in Geneva: two talks, lots of posters, plenty of new ideas, and great conversations across the computational biology community.
Great to see so much of our science represented at ECCB!

As Giovanni Nisato (Pistoia Alliance) framed it, the result is a "Dream Team" where each approach handles a specific layer. Next step: a joint guidance paper for the research community on implementing FAIR in practice.

At #ECCB2026, our team supported around 1,800 participants, including 1,300 check-ins in just two hours on the first morning.

Last week at #ECCB2026, Mariia Steeghs-Turchina led an ELIXIR workshop on FAIR metadata for bioinformatics software, with hands-on examples using bio.tools and software management plans to make tools more FAIR, sustainable, and reusable.

Last week I attended the #ECCB2026 in Geneva! It was my first time attending a big scale conference and, even though it felt overwhelming at times, I really appreciate the opportunity to be able to show my work in such a unique scenario.
