Good Saturday morning everyone. Last night just decided to let the s50 and the Dwarf Mini observe 2 items each. First up is the Dwarf Mini’s observation of #NGC7000 #NorthAmericanNebula. #dwarflabs #dwarfmini #space #astronomy #amateur

NGC 7000 North American Nebula - telescope processed image. NGC 7000 is part of the same massive H II region as IC 5070 (Pelican Nebula), separated visually by dark interstellar dust lane LDN 935.

NGC 7000 North American Nebula - unprocessed image. Bright star Deneb was long thought to power it, but infrared surveys identified the true engine as hidden binary O-star HD 199579 behind dense dust.

@tg8arc.mastodon.social.ap.brid.gy Oct 4, 2026, 2:02 PM

Last post for today. Decided to let the Dwarf Mini and the s50 observe the same item. Here is #M43 #DeMairan'sNebula / #M42 #TheGreatNebulainOrion.

#seestar #S50 #space #astronomy #amateur #dwarflabs #dwarfmini

M43 De Mairan's Nebula / M42 The Great Nebula in Orion - s50 telescope processed image. Hubble revealed over 150 protoplanetary disks (proplyds) inside M42, capturing solar systems in the earliest stages of forming planets around newborn stars.

M43 De Mairan's Nebula / M42 The Great Nebula in Orion - Dwarf Mini telescope processed image. The core illumination comes from the Trapezium Cluster, a tight four-star system where Theta-1 Orionis C generates most of the ionizing ultraviolet radiation.

M43 De Mairan's Nebula / M42 The Great Nebula in Orion - Dwarf Mini unprocessed image. Physically part of the main Orion Nebula, M43 is separated from M42’s central glow by a dense foreground dust lane cataloged as the Dark Bay.

M43 De Mairan's Nebula / M42 The Great Nebula in Orion - s50 unprocessed image. Unlike M42’s Trapezium cluster, M43 is ionized and illuminated almost entirely by a single massive, hot variable star designated NU Orionis.

The last of last night’s planned observations- #M45 - #ThePleiades. #dwarflabs #dwarfmini #space #astronomy #amateur

M45 - The Pleiades - unprocessed image. The cluster's hot, luminous blue B-type stars are burning through nuclear fuel rapidly and will burn out within the next 200 million years.

@tg8arc.mastodon.social.ap.brid.gy Oct 4, 2026, 12:17 PM

Another image from the Dwarf Mini - #NGC7380 - #TheWizardNebula. #dwarflabs #dwarfmini #space #astronomy #amateur

NGC 7380 - The Wizard Nebula - telescope processed image. The open cluster embedded within the nebula is extremely young in cosmic terms, estimated to be only about 4 to 5 million years old.

NGC 7380 - The Wizard Nebula - unprocessed image. Beyond its NGC catalog number, the surrounding emission region is cataloged as Sh2-142 in Stewart Sharpless’s comprehensive list of H II regions.

@tg8arc.mastodon.social.ap.brid.gy Oct 4, 2026, 12:13 PM

As you will see last night was a mostly nebula themed observation night. Here is #IC1318 - #GammaCygniNebula. #dwarflabs #dwarfmini #space #astronomy #amateur

IC 1318 - Gamma Cygni Nebula - telescope processed image. Supergiant star Sadr (Gamma Cygni) appears centrally located in the nebula, but it lies 1,800 light-years closer to Earth and does not illuminate the gas.

IC 1318 - Gamma Cygni Nebula - unprocessed image. The prominent dark nebula LDN 889 cuts through the center of IC 1318, splitting its glowing hydrogen clouds into two lobes known as the Butterfly Nebula.

Warm up image for the Dwarf Mini. Here is #M17 #TheOmegaNebula / #TheSwanNebula. #dwarflabs #dwarfmini #space #astronomy #amateur

M17 The Omega / Swan Nebula - telescope processed image. The nebula glows intensely due to ultraviolet radiation from an embedded cluster of 35 massive hot stars, mostly hidden inside the dark dust clouds.

M17 The Omega / Swan Nebula - unprocessed image. M17 is considered one of the youngest and most massive star-forming regions in our galaxy, containing enough raw gas to form over 30,000 solar masses.

Last image for the Dwarf Mini for today. Here is #M33 #TheTriangulumGalaxy. #dwarflabs #dwarfmini #space #astronomy #amateur

M33 The Triangulum Galaxy - telescope processed image. It ranks as the third-largest galaxy in our Local Group behind Andromeda and the Milky Way, housing roughly 40 billion stars within its spiral arms.

M33 The Triangulum Galaxy - unprocessed image. It hosts NGC 604, one of the largest known H II star-forming regions in the Local Group—over 40 times larger than the famous Orion Nebula.

More nebulas coming at you in this post. Here is #NGC7380 #TheWizardNebula. #dwarflabs #dwarfmini #space #astronomy #amateur

NGC 7380 The Wizard Nebula - telescope processed image. Discovered by Caroline Herschel in 1787, the designation NGC 7380 technically applies to the embedded open cluster illuminating the surrounding gas.

NGC 7380 The Wizard Nebula - unprocessed image. Radiation from a massive, compact binary system named DH Cephei drives the photoevaporation carving out the nebula’s distinctive, wizard-like dark pillars.

@tg8arc.mastodon.social.ap.brid.gy Sep 7, 2026, 1:14 PM

The next observation for the Dwarf Mini is #M11 #TheWildDuckCluster. #dwarflabs #dwarfmini #space #astronomy #amateur

M11 The Wild Duck Cluster - telescope processed image. It earned its popular nickname because its brightest member stars form a distinct triangular V-shape through small telescopes, echoing a flock of ducks in flight.

M11 The Wild Duck Cluster - unprocessed image. Containing roughly 2,900 stars, it ranks as one of the richest, most compact open clusters known, almost resembling a sparse globular cluster in appearance.

@tg8arc.mastodon.social.ap.brid.gy Sep 7, 2026, 12:01 PM

Here is the first image for the Dwarf Mini from last night - #NGC7023 #TheIrisNebula. #dwarflabs #dwarfmini #space #astronomy #amateur

NGC 7023 The Iris Nebula - telescope processed image. Astronomers using infrared space telescopes detected buckyballs (C60 carbon soccer-ball molecules) forming in the harsh UV light near its core star.

NGC 7023 The Iris Nebula - unprocessed image. The designation NGC 7023 actually refers to the open star cluster embedded within the dusty cloud, while LBN 487 names the reflection nebula itself.
