@forestryjfr.bsky.socialWhen disaster strikes, resilience matters. 🌲🔥
This #InternationalDayforDisasterRiskReduction, we highlight the value of understanding risks, preparing early and strengthening resilience across communities and ecosystems.

@optimcloud.bsky.socialA valley costs about five sensor nodes and one satellite gateway.
LoRa mesh at 900 MHz, 5–15 km node spacing. Hardware in the $1.5k–3k range,
airtime $500–1k a month.
That is the number that decides whether a country can afford coverage.
@stratheia.bsky.socialRebuilding the same vulnerable roads after every disaster is not resilience. KP needs climate-proof infrastructure that can withstand future shocks.

@optimcloud.bsky.socialIn a transboundary valley the alert has to cross a border. The data does not.
693 bytes leave the country — derived alert fields only. Raw waveforms stay
where they were recorded.
Sovereignty as a wire format, not a policy document.

@globalissues.orgOfficials call the recent devastating flood unprecedented, but need to think about improving cross-border early warning systems given climate change are intensifying such hazards
