#dafyomi Bekhorot 13a: Halakhah changes with the times. Halitzah now preferable to Yibum. Like "after they learned" in Gittin 5a. דף יומי בכורות '"ג:א: ההלכה משתנה עם הזמן. חליצה עכשיו עדיף מייבום. כמו "לאחר שלמדו" בגטין ה':א.

Mishna: The mitzvah of yibbum (levirate marriage) initially took precedence over halitza when people performed it for the sake of the mitzvah. Now that people do not do yibbum for the sake of the mitzvah, halitza takes precedence.
