Founders: Don’t make journalists do the work for you.

Lead with:
What happened.

Then explain:
Why it matters.

Back it up with:
Evidence + context + details.

If readers need 5 paragraphs to understand your announcement, it needs a clearer lead.

What would you add?

A press release is NOT an advertisement.

An ad says: “Buy this.”

A strong press release says: “Here’s what happened, why it matters, and the facts behind it.”

Less hype. More information.
Less selling. More relevance.

Does a smaller Web3 project need PR before it has a huge community?

My view: yes—if there’s real news to share.

A launch, funding round, partnership, or major milestone can be worth communicating at any stage.

Agree or disagree?

Your headline has one job

Make the right person want to read the next sentence.

❌ ABC Protocol Announces Exciting New Partnership

✅ “ABC Protocol Integrates [Technology] to Expand [Specific Use Case]”

Show the news. Skip “exciting,” “revolutionary,” and “game-changing.”

One Web3 PR mistake I see often:

Writing for the company instead of the reader.

Ask:
→ What's new?
→ Why does it matter?
→ What changes for users?

Lead with relevance, not hype.

Your Web3 project may not need more marketing. It may need a better story.

Strong PR answers:
• What’s new?
• Why does it matter?
• Who benefits?
• Why now?

Start with the news angle—not the sales pitch.

Your Web3 project doesn't necessarily need more marketing.

It may need a better story.

A press release shouldn't simply say:

“We launched.”

It should answer:

• Why does this matter?
• What's actually new?
• Who benefits?
• Why now?
• What's the bigger market story?

The strongest Web3 PR starts with the news angle — not the sales pitch.

What makes a Web3 announcement interesting enough for you to click?
