We hopefully won't see such poor display of officiating as that in EL this season.
YC 4 Sarr heading ball not handballing it #unbelievable
Not giving pen 4 foul on Daichi #ridiculous
And as for stopping play every time one of their players was injured but not from foul!

Brighton v Palace on 18th October.
I’m putting a bet on that Brighton score in the first 10 minutes.

The way we perform on Sunday is going to really define how Sage is viewed by fans and the board alike. Poor performance and heavy defeat and knives will be out. Good performance will buy him a lot of time #cpfc

Well that was 'interesting' away fan experience at Olympic Lyon is very meh! The only thing worse than a John Textor Derby is losing the John Textor Derby! Ref was shite and so were we in the first half. #cpfc

I'd be inclined to bring in an experienced CB on loan in January. Someone like Scott Dann or GaryCahill. Someone who can not only play but coach and give valuable experience to our young back line. #cpfc

I do feel like we could be excellent under Sage. But he needs to find a better balance between attack & defence. I get the argument that the defence isn’t good enough, & that’s not on him - but ultimately he needs to find a way of playing that protects that defence more rather than exposing it #cpfc

🇫🇷 EAGLE's Player Ratings as #CPFC endure a tough evening against Lyon - not helped by a pathetic display of officiating from João Pinheiro

🦅 3/10 disappointment shouldn't have started...

Disappointing result, but entertaining as always. Thanks to everyone for showing up, and a big thanks to One Eyed Jack for showing the game for us. We go again Sunday.

Some might say that was our karma. A few things went against us (such as a truly awful performance from the referee), but you can’t let a bang average team like Lyon get a two-goal lead against you twice. You’ve got to be better than that. 🤷‍♂️

#CPFC

First half was atrocious, second half was encouraging.

Seems to be a pattern emerging.

Need to be FAR more consistent at the back, press is just disjointed.

Great company as always. ❤️

Just checking: are Ward and Zaha classed as "free agents" who we can still sign? #cpfc 🤣

Disappointed to lose in that matter. Sage needs to be ruthless with our defence now. Play the better CB’s and leave the others as back up. Also, this was ref was terrible. Kamada getting fouled but waved it was on, only to give Lyon a free kick for the same offence sums this evening up #cpfc

Ref was dreadful, we were sloppy.... but some great moments, still optimistic #cpfc

From what I’ve seen so far, our best hope of being better defensively is having Tomiyasu in the middle of our back 3. But he has massive fitness issues. & that is going to cost us. #cpfc

How long should Sage be given to sort the defence? It doesn’t look like it’s getting any better. The ref gets the lowest score though. Farcical display from him #cpfc

Meh this could have been worse.

16 points was the amount of points to finish top 8 in Europa last season.

With a less rigged ref, we might have taken three points tonight. At least would have picked up one.

Onto to Brighton and then Istanbul.

Like Forest, more questions than answers. The main difference this time was we got punished for our mistakes. We’re a lot of fun going forwards, but a disaster defensively. Sage must address that or he’ll be gone. Leeds should be the template for us & we need to get back to that somehow. #cpfc

That ref may as well have had a Lyon shirt on. Fucking atrocious #cpfc
