It's to use the available space intelligently.
Because in AI engineering, MORE CONTEXT isn't always BETTER CONTEXT.

Once a model knows your actual audience and voice, it stops writing the generic draft and starts writing the one you'd pay a freelancer for. That shift isn't a better prompt. It's context the model never had in the first place.
In May, my AI setup notes required supporting material before criticism or analysis. When that material is missing, a polished conclusion can hide the gap. I want the missing context named before anyone judges the answer's quality. #AI #ContextEngineering
"Write a LinkedIn post about our product" fails because the model has to guess who you are. No context, no blank. It fills the gap with an average, the median tone of a million other posts. Fix the gap, not the phrasing.
568 - Chatting with an agent works great for me alone. Drop that same chat into a real team project and it falls apart, because the context and skills live in one head. Here's the missing back end.
My May AI setup notes gave separate review roles to checking document structure and checking whether stop conditions had been diluted. 'Reviewed' needs a follow-up: reviewed for what? #AI #ContextEngineering
I did the math on how many times I'd retyped my own company description into ChatGPT this year. Roughly ninety. Not because the model's lazy. It has zero memory between sessions unless you give it something that persists.
What if #LLMs could manage & edit their own context?
Context Language Models (CLMs) allow AI to update their context like a file - rewriting past notes, pruning fluff, and boosting accuracy by up to 35% while drastically cutting compute costs.

Govern context for enterprise AI at scale: treat context as a product, secure it, make it observable, and coordinate multi-agent systems, with AWS examples. #contextengineering
In April, my AI setup notes called for saved instructions to make sense without the original chat. A phrase like 'in this thread' can lose its reference when copied elsewhere. I wanted the instruction to travel with its meaning. #AI #ContextEngineering
My AI setup rules allowed ZIPs for bulk storage, but wouldn't treat the archive as usable context without confirming access to its contents. Keeping a file alone didn't answer whether the AI could use it. #AI #ContextEngineering
A new arXiv paper proposes multi-agent session alternation for long-horizon machine learning engineering, framing it as a context-reset semi-Markov decision process to address "long-horizon deceleration" and…

Give AI your actual job title, your audience, and three lines in your voice, saved somewhere reusable. Suddenly the first draft is one you'd publish, not one you quietly rewrite. The model wasn't the problem.
I counted the pastes last Tuesday. Forty-one, before lunch. Same context block, same brand guidelines, into a new chat each time. The fix wasn't a smarter prompt, it was pasting the context once per project instead of once per question.
New arXiv paper frames the context files that LLM agents load each session as a capacitated assortment problem, showing that appending every candidate instruction can be arbitrarily worse than picking an optimal subset…

Hire someone brilliant, give them zero context about your customers, your voice, what good looks like. You'd call that bad management. That's exactly how most people use AI, then they're shocked the output is generic.
The update record checked more than the new files: it confirmed the old filenames were gone. If both generations remained, "use the current version" could still leave a choice. I want an update report to show what the next session can find. #AI #ContextEngineering
A new hire gets a brief before their first task: who we are, who we sell to, how we sound. Your AI gets a one-line request and somehow has to guess all of that. Write the brief once. Paste it in before every request. The gap closes fast.
One design note had to reconcile an older "not applied" label with a later placement check. It used the later check for the current baseline while leaving the next candidate pending. One status label could not describe both. #AI #ContextEngineering
The tests passed, but my everyday AI setup still hadn't been switched over. Both were in the same execution report. Reading only "passed" would have made unfinished work look complete. The useful detail was what remained undone. #AI #ContextEngineering
