3 minutes left before the ED/EA essay deadline and your APA 7 reference list still shows “Retrieved from” before the DOI. APA 7th requires the plain https://doi.org/… string alone—drop the retrieval phrase and the period after it. #citationstyle
Midterm week, and Maya asked: why does my APA 7 reference list still show ‘Retrieved from’ before a DOI? In APA 7 the DOI replaces a URL, so format it as https://doi.org/xxxx without ‘Retrieved from’. #citationstyle
30 minutes per source: pull the DOI from CrossRef, paste into Zotero, then generate APA 7 reference—no extra punctuation, author‑date in‑text (Doe, 2023). Saves hours before finals. #citationstyle
Skipped the manual reference list by exporting directly from Zotero’s PDF‑metadata capture: click the article, hit the “Export” button, choose APA 7th, and paste the generated entry—indent and DOI already correct. #citationstyle
Used the DOI in my APA 7 reference and the citation auto‑formats; the same article cited with a plain URL forces a manual retrieval date and extra punctuation. DOI = cleaner, URL = more steps. Choose DOI when available. #APAstyle #citationstyle
