Another #SundayMorning has arrived so here's our traditional start to the day (first posted on Twitter on 01/06/14): this is "Sunday Morning, Farringdon Road" by Cecil Osborne from 1929. It is in the collection at Brighton & Hove Museums, where it is currently on display until 2027. #CecilOsborne

For day two of our canal themed week I'm returning to the same location as yesterday's painting but from a slightly differe viewpoint & by a different Group member! This is "Newly Painted House" by Cecil Osborne from 1933. It depicts Water Meeting Bridge on Prince Albert Road. #CecilOsborne

For day three of our portrait themed week here's a lovely study by Cecil Osborne for "Pamela from Billericay" which is undated but I suspect that it might have been completed at the evening art classes in the mid 1930s, but I can't be sure. #CecilOsborne #EastLondonGroup

Good morning @sansmithuk.bsky.social & thank you: that is most kind. It is lovely to think that Cecil Osborne's painting has become a #SundayMorning fixture for so many people. This is "Farringdon Road" by him that also dates from 1929 but it wasn't exhibited until 1930. #CecilOsborne #SundayMorning

In their day, art critics often describe ELG work as having a " #SundayMorning" feel & Cecil Osborne's painting of "Sunday Morning, Farringdon Road" from 1929 is the epitome of that description! It is in the collection at Brighton & Hove Museums where it is currently on display. #CecilOsborne
