I wrote a short post for @ukdsimpact.bsky.social on the politics of survey data thinking about #unpaid #carers and #CarersAllowance.
It's based on ongoing work @usociety.bsky.social on economic insecurity among carers past the earnings limit set by the allowance.

A refund identified after its recipient dies may close a case. It does not deliver timely justice.
DWP pursued these debts without comparable delay. It must not make carers wait decades for correction.
No carer should have to outlive the queue for justice.
Across #SouthAsia, we've been working to help #UnpaidCarers access government entitlements & in just 2025 they've accessed the equivalent of more than £4M.
In India, our #advocacy has led to the first-ever #CarersAllowance in Karnataka & we are seeing a largennumber of carers access this support 💜🧡
The only thing that could have made this worse would have been if they'd handed them out during #carersweek. Most #unpaidcarers don't even qualify for #carersallowance, but sure they'll be equally happy with tea bags and biscuits.
