The way Shanice said gimme that ring during the proposal and wanting such a short engagement shows Shanice just wants to be married, not necessarily to Ted. And Ted just doesn't want to be single anymore. And none of their family/friends is questioning this 🙃

Ted isn't beating the bad dad accusations. He complains about no one telling him about Smitty's arrest, but does nothing to support his son and son-in-law after finding out. He could've waited a day or two to buy the tux for a wedding that probably won't happen anyway.
