@pilning.bsky.socialMuch Riccia cavernosa on the drawdown zone at VP & pics of Physcomitrium patens and Botrydium granulatum, thanks @astridbiddle.bsky.social for pointing the last two out. Got some Physcomitrium in a pot in the fridge but would never have got the alga! Well worth all the brushcutting #bryophytes #alga

@utkherbarium.bsky.socialNew bryophytes are finding their permanent homes at TENN! Careful filing matters. In a collection this large, a specimen placed in the wrong folder could remain lost for years. Thanks to our techs for keeping the collection organized and accessible! #Herbariumlife #Bryophytes

@kubasawicki.bsky.socialHow do early land plants switch between water and land? 🌿💧
In our new study in Frontiers in Plant Science, we paired SBS with @nanoporetech.com sequencing to explore alternative splicing and 5mC DNA methylation in Riccia fluitans:
@botland-uib.bsky.socialThese results highlight the different strategies mosses can use to withstand sudden environmental change, and the need to better understand the resilience of epiphytic communities to increasingly frequent extreme events.
