I think it’s fair to say how well-rounded and entertaining Garuda: Dare to Dream was, but with this, Jumbo and Panji Tengorak, don’t underestimate Indonesian animation (except for Merah Putih: One for All, that doesn’t exist).
While there are major writing issues within Mystery of Chang’an mainly due to its exposition dump, thankfully, the exciting action sequences and fun character dynamics made up for its shortcomings.
Time to rewatch an animated movie I covered at Annecy this year (and it won't be the last)!
Next up, my rewatch of Yugly (in French dub) as part of Animation Nation 2026!
Considering I enjoyed covering many animated movies from around the world, I am certain that this Rundown's diverse lineup is one reason why.

Mononoke the Movie: The Curse of the Serpent is just the perfect way to end this entire Mononoke trilogy filled with experimental storytelling and animation at its finest. I am in awe over this one!
Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom is yet another reason why we still need stop-motion animation in 2026, being a laugh riot tackling horror tropes and British humour so expertly, but is anyone surprised?
Time for a brand new Shaun the Sheep movie!
Next up, Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom!

This Rundown has some crazy stuff going on, from animals turning anthropomorphic, to insects lost in a city or the Ran Bi Wa tale, this Rundown is interesting.

While Rufus: The Sea Serpent Who Couldn’t Swim is yet another family-friendly foreign CG animated movie that I had covered many times before, despite its rather formulae story, it makes up for in its decent execution and fun animation.

A New Dawn might have a slow start with its writing at first, but this movie blossoms into a grand finale that was well worth seeing the movie. Perhaps this should have won the Contrechamp Grand Prix award at this year’s Annecy Film Festival…
Forgotten Island is yet another reminder why DreamWorks is such an iconic animation studio in the first place. Let’s just say our memories for this movie are in very good hands with this masterpiece.
Last month, I visited Mermaid Island. Now, it's time to visit another new island!
Next up, an early preview screening of Forgotten Island!

Personally, The Keeper of the Camphor Tree might have some writing and animation issues, but I find it quite thoughtful and understated. This movie will touch some people more than others, but I like it!
