October 29: “Flock/Social” and “Crone”

This was a tough one to figure out but I think I made it work with this European Starling

Sharing some October Art I’m making as part of #BirdtoberClub2026 and #Witchtober2026 over on instagram. I’m combining prompts from both challenges. #birds

An illustration of a Green Jay flying straight up and out of the opening of a small green sack with a drawstring. The sack has a star-like shape on the front and there are fern-like leaves spilling out as well as a couple clusters of yellow mesquite flowers. There are stars and sparkles swirling up and out of the bag around the bird as if it is appearing as magic. The background is dark and most of the image is drawn in varying shades of green.

October 17: “Buzzy Song” and “Cottage”

I went with a Savannah Sparrow today, and then it only made sense to add goldenrod💛

An illustration of a sparrow perched on a small branch in front of a cottage. There are large stalks of goldenrod framing the bird and coming out of the chimney of the cottage. The scene is drawn against a dark background with a dark brown rectangle border, and dark gold stars drawn in the sky. Overall colors are brown, yellow, and green.

An open book -- with gilded designs on the front and the word "herbs" along the spine -- placed upside down at the top of the image. From its open pages, vines hang down, sporting bright orange and red trumpet-shaped flowers. A hummingbird with a red throat is hovering and sticking its beak into one flower. There are stars and a decorative golden oval framing these subjects, all against a dark teal background.
