The both love to read, and Finn loves hearing stories about the Human world.

They also spend a lot of time roaming and exploring the forest near Finn's house, where he originally found Benji.

Besides doing PMD type rescue missions, what do Benji and Finn do for fun?

@caffeinerabbit.bsky.social Oct 13, 2026, 1:35 AM

After coming up with a cover story as to why he went missing for a few years, he'd probably resume going to college... and start to realize he misses the PMD world more than he thought.

He'd also track down Latte's former partner.

If Benji was sent home after his pokemon adventure what would his life be like?

@caffeinerabbit.bsky.social Oct 13, 2026, 1:32 AM

Probably his phone or an ipod, so he could listen to music.

Air conditioning would be nice too. His new Sinnoh-esque genes aren't very fond of the summer heat.

#ask #strawpage #benji

Have you wondered, if Benji had the chance of bringing something from the human world, what would it be?

For SCIENCE!! (With very special guest star, @hatthecat.bsky.social's Tiny the Eevee!)

Page 1: Tiny the Eevee replies: "Now Benji, you have a STEM background. Try to put both of them down now. For science."

Page 2: Benji, with both his ears rolled up tightly, stares blankly and wordlessly at Tiny.

Page 3: Benji, ears still tightly rolled up, puts his hands to his mouth and yells, "WHAT??! SPEAK UP!!!"

Tiny sweats in embarrassment.

He never experiences full identity death, but his new instincts do creep up on him and assert themselves from time to time. For example when he's bored or lost in thought, he'll idly start to groom his ears, or he'll reflexively thump when he's angry or impatient.

#ask #strawpage #oclore #benji

Does Benji ever experience things like Imposter Syndrome or any kind of Identity Death due to having become stuck as a pokemon?

Latte has a history with humans, and it left a bitter taste in her mouth.

You can read her backstory here for a better explanation: toyhou.se/~literature/...

Why are Benji and Latte at each other's throats so much? Did Benji commit some grave species taboo that just kicked it all off, or is Latte just a BI-

Finn and his parents know, along with the Guildmaster and a few other high ranking Guild members like Miya's parents. Eventually, they let the Guild High Regent in as well.

Belief over whether he was being honest, making it up, or delusional was initially split.

Who knows about Benji's origin of being a human? And out of those who know, who actually believes him?

More Tumblr lore

#ask #tumblr #oclore #benji #pmd

Anonymous asks: in your post about benji and lattes relationship you mention that its years later how long is benji in the pokemon world for in your story?

Response: Originally he would have been there somewhere between two and three years, and chooses to go home not long after he finishes his quest.

Then I started doing "What If" scenarios where he chooses to stay permanently - which included coming up with his Lopunny form - and I kinda sorta fell in love with the idea. I've admittedly had a hard time coming up with a reason why he would want to go home, given his life back on Earth, and narratively I'm not a big fan of the idea a being able to go back and forth freely, so its still a story beat I'm working on.

Right now, it kinda exists in my head as a split timeline, but the "He Stays" version is gaining traction.

Some Benji lore from over on Tumblr

#ask #oclore #benji

Toblo1 asks: How does your PMD-verse handle evolution? Did Benji evolve by going to one of the places that catalyze evolution (Luminous Cave, Luminous Spring, The Tree Of Life, etc) or did he evolve due to having high friendship with one of his peers?

Response: Benji's setting works more like the core games or Gates to Infinity, where a pokemon evolves naturally without the need of a special location.

In Benji's case, it's indeed his friendship with the core group that eventually triggers his evolution, along with finally letting go of some mental and emotional baggage that he'd been hanging on to for a very long time.

@caffeinerabbit.bsky.social Sep 27, 2026, 9:00 PM

While these two never exactly become best friends, they do eventually settle down into a sort of "bickering siblings" type of relationship, caring in its own way.

Even years later, she still pesters him about proper ear care.
