Beat 1008 - “Great Scott” feat. El Pako & Rita Torrens 🎻
Adding air was the key to making this violin sing. Our secret sauce chain:
Softube FET Mk II ➔ Safari Falcon Air ➔ Pulsar P42 ➔ NoiseAsh FrozenVerb ➔ SSL Shimmerverb

Beat 1015 “Sector 8” ft. @cbeemiring x @elpako_official 🥁🔥
Cooked it up & performed live on the MPC Live 3! @cbeemiring killed it on guitar + Genjer-Genjer scratches, while @elpako_official laid down live bass.

Grimy boom bap live on the MPC 🥁 Beat 1003 - “Slotkey” (feat. the dog).
Pretty sure that’s a @pvdmusic drum break and definitely a @sovietfreestyle sample.

Beat 1009 - “Go on with Your Bad Self” 🌴🔥

Live boom bap in our Ubud garden! Sample-stitched from vinyl crate digs using Ableton Live 12 + Push 3, featuring live cuts on a modded PT-01 & MPC finger drumming with Flex & El Pako.

Boom Bap meets live violin 🎻🔥
Collaborated on Beat 1013 “Small Patterns” with violinist Rita Torrens. Swapped Ableton beat-making for her music theory skills, layering live violin over @teletoneaudio drums, @arturia_official CS-80, & tape noise from Gazillion Industries.
#boombap #violin #beatsky

Quick before/after testing out the Gazillionindustries line-up: Triple OG tape, Drugs, and Beefy on drums.
Beefy gets those drums knockin' fast—nice combination of parameters to dial in a heavy sound quickly. Shoutout to @eraserfase for making these and @ajhall89 for the break!

Beat 1004 Flipping Wu-Tang Clan’s classic "C.R.E.A.M." live on the Akai MPC Sample x Akai MPC Live 3! 🥁🔥
Heavy Boom Bap remix featuring @elpako.official, finger-drummed live from Ubud, Bali.

Beat 1001
Strange Days
Feat Elpako
#beatsky #fingerdrumming live from Indonesia.

I hope this gives some of y’all some joy and levity in what can be such a cruel and unforgiving world. I know making it gave us a taste of that. Take care of yourselves…sending love to y’all/yous folx.

Beat 1000 - “Maktov” thought I’d do something a little special for 1000th beat/video. A collab with Elpako & Roxa Nubali here in Bali. Live fingerdrumming & beats jam x vox. Doing a beat a day has seen me doing this before political chaos, during the death of my father y mas. Crazy… #beatsky

It’s out now y’all! I said HEY YOUS GUYSSSSSS. It will make you temporarily teleport to the beach

In 1926, the Pacific Beach Club—a premier resort for Black Americans—was destroyed by arson. This track is our homage to that history.

Exploring the Arturia MemoryMoog V & BeatSkillz Echorium on Beat 999 - "Memory of the Sun." Put that reverb/delay on everything from the lead synth to the drumbreak! Shot this in a hurry right before late check-out at The Udaya using the Akai MPC sampled from Ableton. #beatsky

Rewrote Beat 985 (“Neon Sun”) twice until it clicked. Ditched the forced chords for my sampling roots: a jazzy Russian loop via @sovietfreestyle & a clean @tamuzsamples break. Bit crushed through Inphonik RX950 & waveTracing SP950. Pure vibe. 🎧
