@hareware.xyzBasis had another load test the other day and I was getting a solid 60FPS on Linux in a Quest 3 with the Steam Hardware Survey most popular GPU.. with 200+ real people in the instance all hanging out and talking!

Self/hosted instances make it feel like the early days of the Internet & what High Fidelity aspired to do but with VRChat culture to do it.

This time it's a 1500 User Load Test!
I didn't get my avatar in time for the picture but to see plenty of people without even a single drop in frames was mind-blowing!
First two is with about 300-ish users. Third is 1650! #basisvr

When platforms shutdown (most recently Rec Room), they often take all the UGC with them. Basis provides a place to put that UGC in a way that they can continue to be enjoyed forever.
Self hosting is freedom.

Thanks to their Direct Connection feature, I was able to enjoy every moment of it with my friends without suffering voice or IK degradation like what happened in previous load tests.
@valiray.gaywas at the 1.5k person load test in the #BasisLoadTest today and it was so cool, i didnt have the chance to upload my own avi in time but it was still so cool to see all the amazing QoL features. cant wait to see what is done with this in the future

It was actually pretty neat. A bit tricky to get things setup (was using Leona from elizacg.com, which is a real cool avi) but it was fun. And hey - yoga!
Also server managed to live up to 1630 people in a sole instance.
