Every Bao player has done it: scooped up a pit with total confidence, sown three seeds, and realised with a quiet, sinking feeling that this was not the pit they meant. #Bao #mancala

Bao tip: before you sow, look at your own front row the way your opponent sees it. That big pile you've been proudly building is also the juiciest target on the board. Sometimes the best move spreads it out before they get there. #Bao #mancala

Bao-wow series, pup 5: chocolate lab!! Another classic pup, gotta have a classic flavor - chicken curry!!
What would your bao-pup be??

Bao players, a quick one: do you play fast and trust your feel for the board, or slow down and count every seed before you sow?

One word is plenty, but I'd love a reason too. #Bao #mancala

Bao tip: before a move you're unsure about, take a quick photo of the board. After the game, set that position back up and sow it again slowly, seed by seed. You'll usually spot the chain you missed, and it sticks better than any explanation. #Bao #mancala

Early Bao games: you finally commit to a move, and your opponent is already sowing, seeds clicking into the pits before you've let go of yours. They read your whole turn while you were still choosing it. Who taught you, and how long until you kept up? #Bao #mancala

广州bao告解室复刻，布置好现场欢迎明天来祷（）。明天出修女，现在修女服裁缝老师刚改完这件事（），超绝时间管理大师。

Every bao set is complete, apart from the one seed that rolled under the sofa and now lives there. #Bao

Badges for @orchard_rdhastings plus a picture I took slurping down their vegan hand made sesame noodles and probably disassociating in the dark. (delicious) @chef_rhills

In Lamu, dhow crews play bao while they wait for the wind to rise. Boat builder Ali Skanda carved a board and challenged visitors in the shipyard between repairs. #bao

Bao players: what was the moment the game finally clicked for you?

For me it was realising one sowing can keep going, capture after capture, and that I had to read the whole chain before touching a single seed.

#Bao #mancala

That moment in Bao when one move just keeps going: sow, land on seeds, scoop them up, sow again, while everyone at the board counts along under their breath. The last seed drops. Silence. What's the longest turn you've ever watched? #Bao #mancala

Hot take: in Bao, losing to a long chain of sowing is more fun than most wins in other games.

You watch every seed land, you can see exactly where it went wrong, and all you want is the rematch.

Change my mind.

Bao-Wow Series pup no.2! 🥟🐶Bernese Mountain dog: I’m envisioning a tasty, unique, mushroom tofu bao bun for this omnivorous pup ;) what flavor do you think they should be?
Who will be next???
