I definitely agree with this. How many apps and gadgets do AYA patients need? What happens when we age out? That should be a focus for innovation because we’re dx younger and surviving longer all while dealing with issues from our dx age. #ayacsm

I disagree because the name as is doesn’t resonate with the community. Why keep pushing something that most don’t understand or scared to understand? I think the research and medical community forget that patients need clear language because we’re just trying to survive. #ayacsm

Agree! Diversity needs to be at the heart of research, innovation, and care. #AYACSM

A4: We definitely need more action & access for the AYA gyn community. We can’t have innovation without diversity. How can we take action when the decision-makers are mostly ⚪️ and not bringing minoritized communities to the table. I’m tired of being the ONLY Black person in too many rooms. #ayacsm

Some argue that naming the same thing something else doesn't change the issues/connotation it has but rather we should demistify what palliative care actually means. What do you think? #AYACSM

We need to change the name #palliativecare to #supportivecare. I was in palliative care for 2 years due to excruciating pain and complications post-cancer. That term palliative care didn’t resonate then or now. #ayacsm

I agree!! The re-building of the chat has been slow (maybe that should be the focus of November's chat - which we will move timing wise due to the #midterms), but it has fostered a very real community and real connections #AYACSM

Q2: #AYACSM I think we’re always looking for the big things (new tech or digital tools) but I’ve found paying attention to the details can be just as innovative! An easier way to structure/schedule appts can be just as innovative if they help improve patient experience
