#Guardians pitching struck out 13 #Rays today. The 102 strikeouts for CLE pitchers are the most by any #MLB team through their first 8 games of any postseason. The previous record was 100 SO by 2013 #Tigers and 2022 #Astros.

ICYMI yesterday, the #Astros are on the hunt for a new manager:

wow, they are throwing down on Jim Crane. Apparently one of the coaches who was fired, a team asked permission to talk to him last week and Crane said no but fired him days later.
My vote for #Astros Manager is El Machete.

Nice writeup on coaching possibilities but I doubt anyone from the 2017 staff would be asked to come back other than Luhnow or Hinch

The First Place, 6-2 Scottsdale Scorpions play again tonight @ 2030
Astros prospect Joey Dixon is the scheduled starter. Dixon pitched one game in 2026 before getting hurt, but he looked good in it, and his one appearance in the AFL was very good for him.
#Astros Question of the Day: Pick the new Manager
Brad Ausmus
Rodney Linares- Tampa Bay Bench Coach
Danny Lehmann- Dodgers Bench Coach
Walter McInven- White Sox Bench Coach
Rocco Baldelli- former Twins coach
Morgan Ensberg- Rays Minors coach

Astros move on from Joe Espada, is a full rebuild next?
some questions to ponder also

NGL, I’m the biggest Brewers fan right now. #Astros
The #Astros were swept, sure. But who even thought of those games as actual playoffs? But Yankees swept and Dodgers on the verge of being swept? That’s the good stuff.
I see the Dodgers have now turned to their "Oops! All #Astros!" outfield alignment
So long Joe Espada. Thank you for your years of dedicated service to the #Astros. You played the bad hands you were dealt, and you did well despite the challenges. You weren’t an especially creative field manager, which was frustrating, but you were an effective manager behind the scenes.
After the #Astros sent manager Joe Espada packing on Wednesday, I look at 7 potential replacements, including Brad Ausmus. Who do YOU want to see them hire? #HoustonAstros #MLB

I agree with the coaches that are retained, those were obviously good coaches though the others may not have gotten a fair shake because of the injuries
Rome is so predictable. The entire second half of the article is even worse: nothing but excuse-making for Joe Espada and blame-laying for Dana Brown. Lol #Astros
The way Rome spends the entire second half of this article extolling how brilliantly Espada maneuvered injuries and Dana Brown’s roster failures is HILARIOUS
Are we under the impression the manager had no say at all in his own roster? Lol this is so crazy #Astros
Now that today's news has dropped, how many days will pass before the GM and manager positions are filled?
My best guess is before the weekend if not sooner.
Exactly. Lack of reporting on a move doesn’t mean there is inaction. Crane is apparently not a fan of transparency. He rarely telegraphs his actions to the media, and the #Astros organizational culture reflects that.
