I've been reprocessing some data from last year while I wait for agreeable weather down at Starfront so I can finish a couple late summer targets and another mosaic.
Here's the Horsehead. The data was gathered late November through early January of last year.
#astrophotography #photography

A nebula image of the horsehead and flaming star nebulae. The horsehead is a dark nebula in with the appearance of a horse's head in profile. It is contrasted by warm red/pink hues of gas. The flaming star is to the left of the horsehead, the mix of light and dark give the appearance of a flame.
Between the two nebulae is Alnitak, one of the brightest stars and biggest pains in the ass that astrophotographers normally have to deal with. Its has a magenta halo and features a well defined defraction spike from the telescope.

A fairy-tale creature? It’s a tower of gas in the #EagleNebula. Ultraviolet light from hot young stars above it is slowly eroding the pillar. Streamers of gas boil off its surface.

Hubble image of a tall, slender pillar of dark gas and dust rising from the bottom of the frame, its top edges glowing, against blue glowing gas above and a reddish haze below.

This is UGC 12613, also called the Pegasus Dwarf Galaxy. It's an irregular galaxy in the constellation Pegasus. It's small and very faint, so I used almost 17 hours of total exposure time to try to bring it out. #Astronomy #Astrophotography

California Nebula(NGC 1499) is a large emission nebula lit up by the bright star Xi Persei. It is a faint nebula about 5x the width of a full moon so I used my widest field scope to image it.

The northern Milky Way in the constellation Cygnus (the Swan) and Aquila (the Eagle) here in my light polluted skies, thanks to my Seestar S30 Pro’s ”milky way” mode using it’s wide-angle camera #astronomy #astrophotography

The Milky Way’s starclouds and dark bands of dust run like a stellar river through the Swan and the Eagle. In the far lower left corner of the image is the constellation of the Dolphin.

A black and white view of the Manhattan skyline merges into a night sky with stars and a visible, though faint, Milky Way. Please see explanation for more details.
