The #AUKUS deal and #ANZUS treaty now appear to be not worth the paper they’re written on.

America continues to cosy up to Russia, betrays Ukraine and subverts its own sanctions. Europe is scrambling to defend itself without them. And yet here it’s ’shared common values’ and ‘have some more cash and another base’. #aukus #anzus madness

Why would the USA ignore the treaty we have with them?

I think it'd depend on the president. Despite having no agreements, Biden provided support to Ukraine.

While #Trump just wants Ukraine to surrender (& probably wants a kickback for himself.)

#ALP and #LNP are all in on #ANZUS and #AUKUS

combined with #AUSMIN

the Australian political class as well as the federal bureaucracy, has their noses so far up Washington's arse you'd think they're perennial dwellers of the #GOP swamp

Should Australia (be prepared to) go to war with China?
This question is critical to Australia's defence strategy and AUKUS. Discussion with Hugh White and Sam Roggaveen.
